By the way,
now I am trying to make a package manager to import ArchLinux ones to Porteus ones.

Your FVWM drives me to study many things.
There are interrupts for updating my articles.
But I am continuing to follow to your FVWM.
And then I had to get many packages from ArchLinux.

My bad nature of interest on many things makes me enter mazes.

Thanks.
Here:
FVWM 2.6.5 source
patches
shell script

Create directory, unpack both archives and script there, execute script and it should patch and compile fvwm to ./fvwm-compiled then it will create XZM module in ./

P.S. I just compiled it. Works fine on x86_64 and files have exactly the same size as in my old module. It lacks /usr/bin/startfvwm2 and /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.fvwm2 with symlink /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc pointing at it
It should be easy to create i486 module with all patches. =)

@Kriss
Today I tried to compile your fvwm.
I could get 'patches' and 'shell script'.
But I could not get 'FVWM 2.6.5 source'.

Salutations to you neko.

Do you have the most recent edition of the slimjet browser in tube form of module.

Have you tried porteus 32?

No, I have not.
I will try and report tonight.

@fulalas
=== report 1 ===
Tonight, I replaced 003-xfce4.xzm of Porteus-XFCE-v3.2-x86_64.iso with v3.1 64bit 003-lxde.xzm.
But this mixed ISO displayed the black desktop without icons.

Tomorrow I will try to build 64bit 003-lxde.xzm from Slackware 4.2.
It will need a little long time.

I've finally managed to run LXDE on Porteus 3.2 x64, but there're a few things to do, like fixing some missing icons (why?): http://www.mediafire.com/file/z50a2bp8p ... 3-lxde.xzm

@fulalas
=== report 2 ===
I have build "lxde" by using your module.
Result is OK. Great !!

step 1) Analizing your "003-lxde.xzm".

Code: Select all

% su
# ls
003-lxde.xzm repo.tgz
# tar -xzf repo.tgz
# ls
003-lxde.xzm anl-fulalas.xzm bin repo.tgz
# bin/dXZM 003-lxde.xzm
# bin/dXZM anl-fulalas.xzm
# ls anl-fulalas
var
# cp -a anl-fulalas/* 003-lxde/
# rm -fr anl-fulalas*
# bin/sep2pkg 003-lxde
# ls
003-lxde.xzm bin pkgs.003-lxde repo.tgz
# mv 003-lxde.xzm org.003-lxde.xzm
# bin/pkgs2xzm pkgs.003-lxde
# ls
003-lxde.xzm bin org.003-lxde.xzm pkgs.003-lxde repo.tgz
step 2) replaceing '003-xfce.xzm' of Porteus-XFCE-v3.2-x86_64.iso with '003-lxde.xzm'.
renameing Porteus-XFCE-v3.2-x86_64.iso to Porteus-LXDE-v3.2-x86_64.iso.

step 3) updateing cache.
after boot Porteus-LXDE-v3.2-x86_64.iso, executing "p_cache".
And then moveing /tmp/009-caches.xzm into Porteus-LXDE-v3.2-x86_64.iso.

repo.tgz was uploaded as follow.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/41ezi4aw2l16u3r/repo.tgz

note 1:
I checked packages of lxde depending on your list.
And I grouped those in pkgs.003-lxde/pkg.lxde.
Missing packages are
file-roller-3.16.4-x86_64-1ponce and
lxmusic-0.4.6-x86_64-1ponce.

note 2:
I grouped packages that have no package information in pkg.misc.

Thanks.

neko, cool! We can also remove some xfce packages using this command:

Code: Select all

ROOT=/mnt/sda6/Porteus-beta/RC4/Build/003-box removepkg xfburn xfce4-appfinder xfce4-battery-plugin xfce4-clipman-plugin xfce4-cpufreq-plugin xfce4-cpugraph-plugin xfce4-dev-tools xfce4-mailwatch-plugin xfce4-notes-plugin xfce4-notifyd xfce4-panel xfce4-power-manager xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin xfce4-screenshooter xfce4-sensors-plugin xfce4-session xfce4-settings xfce4-systemload-plugin xfce4-taskmanager xfce4-terminal xfce4-weather-plugin xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin xfce4-xkb-plugin xfconf xfdesktop xfwm4 thunar-volman mousepad gtk-xfce-engine gthumb Thunar libxfce4ui libxfce4util keybinder exo wxgtk garcon
(reference: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 46&p=50714)

By doing that we should put lxpanel (I think this is LXDE's taskbar) to work.

Can you do that and provide a full xzm module?

Thanks!

P.S.: I'm kind of disappointed with LXDE as I thought it was a little bit lighter :( I'm giving a try to OpenBox which seems to be really great.
