Salutations...
MHO... Toxfile is an (attractive?) ultra lightweight file manager based on TK (Tcl) ...
(basically a PcMan/SpaceFM alternative that does not require Mesa... Gtk or Qt)
http://sourceforge.net/p/filtr/screenshot/75501.jpg
http://sourceforge.net/projects/filtr/files/TOXFile/
This could be a nice addition to the Porteus pantheon of modules...
(unfortunately it has not yet been posted to http://webwarper.net/ww/~av/slakfinder.org)
Best Regards...
aus9 (mod) Change subject to show full filename and hopefully show that TOXFile is a suggestion to replace PCManFM or SpaceFM

This is added while posting a message to avoid misusing the service

Re: PcMan/SpaceFM alternative?
Hi
interesting find. I hope you don't mind some comments.
That image appears to be a windows file structure
The package does not seem to have any updates since 2010.
I found another reference to it here
http://wiki.tcl.tk/16045 basically saying its written in TCL
tcl info is here
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/TclTk-HOWTO-3.html#ss3.1
AFAIK there is no package in Slackware and no package in Archlinux .
Misleading IMHO there is also reference to .tox files showing up in Archlinux search and Slackware meaning a format and not a file manager.
YMMV

Perhaps the Linux logo was inadvertently placed on Sourceforge.
When there is time... I will post a Sourceforge review/comment and I will reach out to the dev for clarification.
@brokenman... where do I go to get my status bumped back up to "Shogun"???
After alll... I am blue4meridian (I can't access my old account).
Best Regards...

Re: PcMan/SpaceFM alternative?
I tried to replace PCManFM on SpaceFM, but i failed. My steps see below
For guest
For root
I think PCManFM or Nemo file manager is better.
For guest
Code: Select all
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm/spacefm/g' /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop &&
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm/spacefm/g' ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml &&
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm/spacefm/g' /usr/share/lxde/openbox/menu.xml &&
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm/spacefm/g' /usr/share/lxde/openbox/rc.xml &&
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm --desktop --profile LXDE/spacefm --desktop/g' /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart &&
sudo sed -i 's/pcmanfm/spacefm/g' /usr/share/lxpanel/profile/LXDE/config

Re: PcMan/SpaceFM alternative?
What is failed?
For Slackware Porteus "sed -i 's/pcmanfm --desktop --profile LXDE/spacefm --desktop/g' /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart" and the same (if exist) for lxsession/LXDE/autostart inside guest tree is enough. Rest is unnended.

You have mind and feelings. Be wise and clever.
Re: FAA Suggestion replace either PcManFM/SpaceFM with TOXF
I had added FAA to subject line as OP has asked
Then I found that brokenman had replied to OP on another thread so removed FAA
my apols if that makes extra work for anyone
I had changed subject line to try and show a better subject line@brokenman... where do I go to get my status bumped back up to "Shogun"???

@ aus9... thanks for the title suggestion. However... it is carefully worded to avoid re-igniting the flamewar of last summer.
There are some who feel that telling them what to "consider" means telling them what to "do".
In regard to TOXfile (which is based on ObexTool)...
