Hello to all,
Is there a new Teamviewer module for the new Porteus version 3.1?
Thanks

Re: Teamviewer module
I did not have success with the normal "portable" way of doing it..
That is, Just click on the teamviewer-file in the folder and run it, if everything
is included in the extracted folder I did hope it would work, but did not. (LXDE 3.01 in "copy2ram" , uptime 35 days with the new 3.1-core, new bash, htop, new firefox 31.4 for today , new flash v.440 for today)
I think a minimalistic Wine also was included in the subfolders from TeamViewer,
Some more competent Porteus-guy need too look in to this , why it dont work,
"Porteus cant create symlinks" or similar error was what i got when I extracted the "portable" file:
http://download.teamviewer.com/download ... nux.tar.gz
"Run TeamViewer without installation
The tar.gz package can be run without installation and doesn’t even need root permissions.
After downloading the tar.gz package, you need to extract it to the directory you want to run it from. Simply click on “teamviewer” to start a TeamViewer instance.
The tar.gz package works, if the libraries TeamViewer depends on are installed which is often the case.
You can identify missing libraries by running the command as an administrator:
tv-setup --checklibs
"
- Did you get the same result with symlink complains when you try to extract it?

Re: Teamviewer module
hi EletricQT i think better to do a package xzm of teamviewer, you can put on modules folder and if you run porteus in fresh way you have this module ready to use,if you have devel module try usm -b teamviewer if you have 32 bit porteus you don't have problem to build it,the source code isn't the best way to install software in a aufs file system,a clean system run better.ps:clean system is only that you have all the software in xzm packages, into modules folder.

Re: Teamviewer module
yes, but it was not possible to extract / decompress the downloaded archivefile from teamviewer
Du you know what I do wrong if that error happens ?
(32 bit LXDE here)

Re: Teamviewer module
Hi jmurrinux,
Download tar.gz version under Other systems (not officially supported)
Untar it and move it to a folder in /opt
tar zxvf teamviewer_10.0.37742_linux.tar.gz
mv /root/teamviewer /opt/teamviewer10
Enable daemon
/opt/teamviewer10/teamviewer --daemon enable
Start Teamviewer
/opt/teamviewer10/teamviewer
You will need to activate compat32-libraries-3.0-x86_64-1sl.xzm as well

Re: Teamviewer module
Hi all!
Here is a Teamviewer-10 module for linux generic ported to Porteus .
It is a MS compilation plus a Wine wrapper and so prone to MS security issues...
Nevertheless, it seems to be working ok. It is kind of a Skype with some variations.
You can test it and see if it fulfills your expectations.
Enjoy!

Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).
