Dell Inspiron 1525 (Mix Memory)
Can you mix memory what I mean is 2GB PC2-5300 and a 2GB PC2-6400. I don't want any problem's. So can anyone tell if it will work or not? I know it will run at PC2-5300 speed.

I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

Re: Mix Memory
Hi Jack
Modules with different speeds (clock rates) can be used but the motherboard will then run all memory modules at the speed of the slowest module.
Some motherboards have compatibility issues when attempting to use them in dual-channel mode.
For this reason, it is generally advised to use identical pairs of memory modules.
