Especially on how to ask questions on a linux forum. You do not provide enough information on what you did exactly.
When you say the command work:
What commands (I have provided two sets), what version of porteus, what desktop, are you on save changes mode (see cheat codes porteus with Google)?
Start a thread on how to make a script and auto start that script at boot up for the screen value
