New Porteus Download Page

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

New Porteus Download Page

Hello all :)

Porteus now has a new download/install page, which makes downloading the ISO easier. More concise installation instructions are included as well, with a link to the Official Installation Guide for those who have issues or would like more detailed information. You can view the new page here:

http://porteus.org/distro-download/main-download.html

Many thanks to Ahau for great Documentation and Br0kenman for Hosting, Fanthom for some helps, Hamza for nothing

Together, we made a good work, we want to see if nothing else could still be implemented.

If you would like to have a new feature or simply report a bug. Please post it in this thread.

I think the colors could be changed slightly to match the colors of the porteus website. The orange is a little dark and muddy IMHO.

Other than that ... this is exactly what i imagined. Thanks Hamza and an excellent job!

I will write a theme switch to see if the user want orange or blue..Will need them again.

Posted after 8 hours 43 minutes 6 seconds:
I made some changes about color..and it should be more comfortable right now. I think color switcher is not a good idea as we have already a color scheme for website.

I agree, since Porteus itself uses a water-like themes and background, the main page should also use blue and blue-ish colours. Just like the forum.

What misses is at least a hint that folks who want to check out rc versions could also do that. Including a warning that such versions are not for everyone and folks should register at the forum to speak about the development and give comments on what works, and what's not working as it should...
Cheers!

Yeah that would be good but it must be accepted by community. Otherwise I can include these features :)

Yeah, but it will require to make a new design for the website since the main website color is orange and not blue. :)

Yeah, the website template has been made with CSS3.
So, a poll or what?
That would be good but just post a message that you agree and you want these features would be also good.

Well... it was me who suggested the rc downloads to be found on the main page (with info to join the forum an that these are not meant in a productive environment yadda yadda), so sure I agree on that.

And I also agree on giving all official Porteus pages the same look and feel, and that is: water-y lookout. Blue and Greenish-blue fits the best with that.
Cheers!

How complex is the css for the homepage? I could look into it and make some colour suggestions / tweaks if you want... :)

Persistent? Me? I have no idea what you mean by that. :-)

We will need more than one user feedback to rewrite the website's template.

I have the same opinion as Rava. All colors should be in the colors of Porteus but this looks very good.
Let's change the colors together with the next release. That it's mine opinion. :)
