Objective of Porteus?

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

You, brokenman, win the internet. Also for the "walls and Windows" reply. :D

I presume he is not and he really hates the CLI... But that is his issue and shortcomings, not ours. And we sure will keep the CLI in Porteus.

He could tweak his very own brand of live Linux if he wants it to be without any CLI, but even Witless OS crated a CLI that now uses "ls" and such... :-)

If we keep ourselves in the bleeding edge of development, we could organize and sell, worldwide, thousands of usb-sticks already loaded with the last versions of Porteus for the cost of the sticks plus the cost of loading the OS plus the cost of distributing them, with brief instructions in the package.
Still, a down-trimmed of KDE is still more bloated than LXDE, tiny-desktop and even XFCe ...

My goal is to find all the little needed programs that come without any large libraries so they could be used with LXDE, tiny-desktop or XFCe instead.
Like geany (IDE, syntax highlighting editor, also has the ability to remember recently opened files that leafpad cannot do) - comes on 64 bit and 32 bit. Don't get fooled by the seemingly low version number of 0.20. It is stable and a great lil' program already!

I not have found the perfect screen capture utility so far to replace the KDE one. mtpaint can do that (and is a versatile graphics editor as well), but I dunno if that exists in 64 bit as well...
Cheers!

I had noticed yesterday that lxde.org let there domain name expire. There Sourceforge page still exists.
It says that changes are still being made. Is there still an active development? Are they letting it fall to the wayside?
I hope not it is my interface of choice.
Sorry guys... I got to go. My girlfriend just casted "get your dirty ass into the shower" on me.
Oh and here is some naked grandpa pictures too.

That is new to me, my interface of choice is still XFCe, it may be bigger than LXDE but LXDE has some minor bugs (like lxterminal saying it's opened with 80 chars width when the programs running in it report it only has a column of 79... or that it not redraws closed windows on its "desktop pager".

But other stuff I miss that I came to like in XFCe: that you cannot pull a window to another desktop by pulling it from one "desktop pager preview thumb" to another...
Cheers!
