Each time i connect to my network, i am disconnected around 3 minutes after connecting. After reconnecting again i stay connected indefinitely. It makes no difference if i use wicd or any other method. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?

Maybe, your wireless network is "corrupted" , Try to reset your box , and try to reset the settings on your computer.

I've reset the box many times. How do you have a corrupt wireless network? Havn't tried any other distro. I guess i will figure it out when i move. If it follows me it is the wireless card or OS.
Thanks

Example:
You can have a currupted wireless when someone trying to crack your wireless key (WEP/WPA/WPA2) , he will make a big cao in internet box (same a DDoS Attack) , and the wireless network will be unstable.

I had experienced disconnections with kwifimanager in Porteus 09. Now with wicd no more. Fathom's script in V09 was also very stable.
I think your ISP tests every -say 3 minutes- if you are connected and active; if you are not, they disconnect you. But if your client feels the test and answers with a ping or so, you won't be disconnected. That way your ISP frees dynamic connections to attend other user's requests.
Cheers!
