Hello :)

Updates Smplayer-15.9.0 and Smtube-15.9.0

SMPlayer changes
Version 15.9

Support for the 3D stereo filter.
We added support for mpv, which is a player based on mplayer with new features and bug fixes.
Now it's possible to select a secondary subtitle track which is displayed on top of the screen (mpv only).
New option to set a template for screenshots (mpv only).
Now it's possible to play videos from streaming sites (besides Youtube) like DailyMotion, Vimeo, Vevo and many more (mpv only).
Option to step back one frame (mpv only).
The Windows installer now allows to choose the playback engine to install: mplayer or mpv.
Better support for YouTube (VEVO videos).
Possibility to set a proxy.
New action (assigned by default to key "I") shows the current playback time, total time and percentage, for 2 seconds on the OSD.
Add the possibility to use the mouse buttons for "next chapter" and "previous chapter".
New option to delete a file in the playlist from the filesystem.
Support for MPRIS2.
Possibility to compile SMPlayer without MPlayer or mpv support.
The new H2O theme is now the default theme.

npapi-vlc (Videolan plugin for Mozilla browsers) VLC media player is a multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. Install this package if you need Videolan plugin for your Mozilla based browsers.
Got on to a site with lots of divx videos, and VLC plugin could not handle them. Looked on net for appropriate plugin. No joy. Finally tried simple Porteus search, and found just the thing. Thanks.

The download page for latest wine does not work. Is it possible to get it from somewhere else? Thanks!

^ Also does not work for me. However happen to have a yandex acct, which allows me to transfer to my yandisk, from which downloading works. Just opening a yandex acct. should do the trick.

Thanks for the tip! I registered in yandex, everything seems to work like your say, but not the download button. It does nothing.

Is there anyone who could upload the files to a better free service that does not need registration for just downloading? Sha-256 checksum files would be nice to have, too.

^ Hi Just tried it. Tranferred to own disk. Then clicked disk for own disk. Then Downloads, and then only hit downward arrow. Browser comes up with save file. (Already have to have been logged into yandex, before clicking the link)

I did just that, as I said, but nothing happens with the download button. I registered a new account and tried again, I also tried selecting just the smallest file, no difference.

Could someone, for example you, put these files on in some place that really works? Just to spread linux more effectively. Can you publish the sha256 checksums on this forum, if you have the files?

I tried also to share the files that I saved on my yandex disk, yandex then gives a public link. That also didn't work. Could you do that for the smallest file, at least, so I could try to download it from you (with public sha256 checksums)?

I found one place that could work: http://www.tinyupload.com/index.php
They are optimized for small files, works for files under 50 MB, but the bigger files surely can be split easily in linux? No registration for upload or download, free. I tested it with a small file, everything seems to work well.

^ If you're so earnest, I'll have a go, do a tar and sha5 the tar. Watch this space for link. If big file will only do latest version. It's already in a zip: Wine-Porteus.zip

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ ls -lh p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
-rw-r--r-- 1 guest guest 112M Dec 2 19:45 p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
guest@porteus:~$ md5sum p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
8efacd74c896fd0b194f72c9d74cb7be p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
guest@porteus:~$ sha256sum p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
399b894e71108900f50f714c09aa03ae60740622f841a48e04b4539b5bb2d4d9 p10/tor/Flm/Wine-Porteus.zip
Enjoy!

^ Do have Javascript and Cookies enabled for this site, but link does not work until I copy over to own yandisk.

Anyway it's done as zip in my previous post.
