As far as I understand it, mf wants you to visit their site to make money with the ads they display.
That I use a very efficient add-blocker (uBlock Origin) and that mf never complained about it makes it obvious that their approach is flawed at best.
Then again, mf is flawed by how they code their site anyway. You of all people should recall mf flaws. (I recall your failed attempt at uploading a certain module (with DE specific dependencies for a program module by yours truly - when I recall that correctly) to mf - that ended in you not being able to, at least not using mf doing so)
I use uBlock Origin and almost no site gets past it.

just for the lurkers:
while the modification time of the x86-64-Port5.0rc3 file of /usr/share/porteus/porteus-functions differs from the i586-Port4.0 one, the size and md5sum
The first part is obvious, in my case it (egrep -qo " changes=[^ ]+" /proc/cmdline | cut -d= -f2) returns nothing and its return value is zero when directly executed in an xterm.
No "changes" found in my /proc/cmdline .
But the 2nd part I do not get (via x86-64-Port5.0rc3):
Off topic. While examining /usr/share/porteus/porteus-functions I wondered about is_saving_changes()
an artifact from a previous era, i presume.. incidentally something that lives on in nemesis..
should probly fix it for the current /etc/bootcmd.cfg
chances are that nothing actually uses this function
