Hi,
new module approach: Opera stable for x86_64 built from the official RPM including localizations. I will keep this updated when a new version is released.
current version: 52.0.2871.64

Give it a try, i do not use mate.
On 4.0rc4 XFCE-Edition there are no additional depedencies...works out of the box.

All browsers supported by Porteus update/install script (Chromium family -- which includes Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi --, Firefox, Palemoon) should work out of the box on any of the supported DEs
