GNU Radio is a free & open-source software development toolkit that provides
signal processing blocks to implement software radios. It can be used with
readily-available low-cost external RF hardware to create
software-defined radios, or without hardware in a simulation-like environment.
It is widely used in hobbyist, academic and commercial environments to support
both wireless communications research and real-world radio systems.

Osmocom Realtek Software Defined Radio stuff.
If you have a radio or TV USB-dongle with Realtek RTL2832U Chip,
then you can use it with gnuradio for SDR

see http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac

It contain the following packages:
gr-iqbal-2013.06.23.gr3.6-x86_64-1KnKo.xzm

I have not enough test this packages.
(I have only a RTL2832U DAB-USB-dongle).
And i not yet satisfied with this packages,
from this reason i have build a huge-forum-package.
Later i will try to build a better version and put then to the repository.

Thanks, Knallkopf!

I've been interested in using Porteus as a base for software defined radios. Have you had any experience with Qt Radio? It uses a lot of gnuradio code and is a very nice system for remotely operated high performance radios. Over here in China, there just isn't much to listen to, so I tune SDRs in Europe /USA for background chatter with my morning coffee.

The Ubuntu ghpsdr3 /QTradio USB stick is just too large - certainly a Porteus stick can do it all and still fit on a 1 GB flashdrive. I'll have some fun with your modules and see what I can do with the QTradio code on git...
