Arch linux or manjaro could be contenders, but the rolling distribution nature and the obligation to go for AUR to have an equivalent pasture, makes it a less attractive option.

This is why I would rather go for:

Code: Select all

apt-get install package

This topic is only concerned with alleviating the situation in the here and now. I am only concerned with the here and now.

BTW good to see you back Jack! :)

I guess what I envision with bundles is a box full of jigsaws fully made. You open the box and pull out the already made jigsaw puzzle with all pieces in place. No fun for jigsaw enthusiasts, but less work for those that don't like solving puzzles.
How do i become super user?

I thought that was the purpose of USM. It determines the machine's architecture, the module's dependencies and builds a functional module.

^ IMHO at the moment USM has resource limitations, and we just have to work within those limitations.

USM has resource limitations
usm is a wonderfull tool! :)

Slackware does not move to a new version very often. We might do two years with those bundles. 8)

^ Modules and not bundles. Bundles need to observe bundle format.
