Friends,
If you are new to Linux, as I seem to remain :-), check this out............
Several years ago I discovered "Harley Hahn", his website, and especially his book "Harley Hahn's Guide to Unix and Linux".
This is kind of a "fall back to" book for me. He gives an excellent history of Unix and takes you into Linux seamlessly, teaching the CLI interface in a wonderfully interesting manner .
I would recommend visiting his website at:
http://www.harley.com/index.shtml
Scroll down to "Linux and Unix", and enjoy some fantastic educational material, with lot's of amusing anecdotes included.
Helpful I hope,
Sean

I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

@Jack,
I bought my used copy at a Linux Users Group meeting several years ago, forget what I paid. Just now checked Amazon and they have new and used copies for sale, $42 dollars US. Didn't see any mention of .pdf availability.

The only Harley that I knew was Harley-Davidson. He is a very noisy guy.
I will go for your Harley, Sean, for sure.
Thanks.
