Re: What is your Favourite File Manager?
spacefm is my favourite, it has a lot of useful features(too many for some)... tho its file search is a separate app(included in its package)
that said, i dont mind thunar or pcmanfm or others...
there is also pfilesearch in the accessories menu for searching,,,
but then theres always mc if you want to go hard core

Re: What is your Favourite File Manager?
Salutations...
SpaceFM is feature rich and it used to be the 003-lxqt.xzm default.
It was removed under the argument it was unmaintained.
However... it continues to be maintained as a maintenance fork.
In any case... it is infinetly superior to PcMan which is was forked from.
IMHO... I prefer Xfe because it uses Fox toolkit instead of Gtk/Qt.
It's in the USM (see... http://webwarper.net/ww/~av/slakfinder. ... pkg=635211 )
"Best Regards"...

Re: What is your Favourite File Manager?
Nemo. Nemo and caja same provenance. Nemo more polished, imo. Normal usage restricted to:
- Finding files
- Marking Directories. Quickly bookmark a directory. Then when opening some other app like gnome-mplayer or transmission etc, one can just jump to relevant directory, without going through the tree.
- Renaming files, especially with spaces or other special characters in their names.
- Deleting the odd file. Following a close shave when almost a whole filesystem deleted (too much power to the fm), prefer to do more complicated deletions thru CLI, and preferably with -i switch.

Re: What is your Favourite File Manager?
USM does not have it. Failing any other suggestion, my dependencies resolver will do the trick.Evan wrote:I forgot about Nemo can it be installed on XFCE?

Re: What is your Favourite File Manager?
@ Evan
I didn't read the links...too long. ..however:
-- rightclick search funktion for Thunar (1.6.10 XFCE 32 Bit) --
start Thunar > Edit > "configure custom actions" > add a new action > Basic Tab >
Name = search, Description = find Files and Folders, Command = pfilesearch -d %f
Choose an icon (if you like) > Appearance conditions Tab choose (e.g) Directories.
Save it.
