Do people use Porteus on internal hard drives?

Post#1 by guest253 » 28 Feb 2016, 00:10

I was just wondering if people actually use Porteus on their internal hard drives and use it as their primary distro. It seems that Porteus is mainly for being portable and therein being primarily installed in CD/DVD/USB.

For those that actually use Porteus on portable mediums, what is the reason for doing so? I like the idea of having a fully funcational OS on my USB but have yet to find a need for me to have such a thing. My laptop is fully functional so I have no need for having a usb with a OS on it.

I will most likely end up running Porteus on my laptop's internal hard drive but I just wanted to know if anyone else actually do the same thing.

I run Porteus from my hard drive. What is very handy is for me to clone everything to a USB, then when I get to work I can continue working on any system available there. That and as a rescue disk.
How do i become super user?

The 1st time your laptop fails to boot you will find a need for the USB drive.

I run Porteus from an ISO on my Windows based netbook. In fact I run several OSs that way. But I also have a Porteus USB drive.
