Seaching for Porteus with google, I found that we are now on Softopedia:
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/O ... 4578.shtml
Citation:
Porteus is based on the Linux Live Scripts which have been heavily modified by Chief maintainer Fanthom for a much faster booting and shutdown time. ...
Not bad!
In this thread, show these links where Porteus will be made famous.

Good start. More to come.
I'd like to keep a marketing record so anything you find like this please post. So far we have:
linux.sofpedia.com
twitter
torrent
In the pipeline:
podcast -
http://www.frostbitemedia.org
youtube - video tutorials & exhibits
Linux magazine - any of them
Also if anyone thinks of any other marketing avenues let me know. Having a popular distro starts with getting the name out.

Great idea feng. Anyone with time can take examples from the website documents. Having a complete and informative wiki page is very useful. Also very good for marketing as wiki is prevalent in searches.

We presently appear in wikipedia under slax as a fork. To get porteus with the search function of wikipedia you need to put porteus fork. At least for now.

All of these are secondary IMHO. Porteus should appear in
http://distrowatch.com . That's the benchmark for all new distros

I was looking for it on distrowatch yesterday. It shows up on their waiting list, added as of 1/15/2011, and links to porteus.org. Of course, it's not exactly easy to find! So, I'm looking forward to their first review, hopefully of v1.0!

Great job!
I'll transfer some documentation and add a little more to opening page when i get some time. A good wiki is a great asset.
