Hope Porteus continues to receive more hits. It is such a clean , fast and stable OS, deserving a much wider user base. Cheers to all Developers.

Distrowatch Hit Ranking
Distrowatch hit rankings are totally irrelevant and have been for many years. Best to ignore the rankings either pro or con.
So too are the off-hand casual user distro reviews which are often innacurate or misleading. In-depth reviews are one thing, but the casual comment reviews are total fluff.
How many 'tube videos have you seen that are nothing more than moving a mouse around to dance-music in the background? Or a guy with two turntables and a microphone doing an install?
Ie, use and support the community that works for you, not any so called influencers...

I use it to see what new Distros are out. They were caught cheating on their ranking by hits a few years back, and then blamed their users for cheating. MX Linux, EndeavorOS and Mint must have college fraternities supporting them. If you click on MX Linux on your home computer that is one Hit. If you use your phone that is another Hit. Not sure how a VPN works, but if you use brother's computer that another Hit. Imagine the daily Hits a college fraternity or dorm can provide. They also support the Distros that provide DistroWatch wid the most daily Hits by giving those Distros good reviews. Enter: Jesse Smith. I hope he isn't a member of this forum...tho I doubt he could even install Porteus 5.0 Linux. He barely has a clue on Linux...other than giving good reviews to the Top Hit providers. His review of Cloud Ready OS (sorta a free version of Chrome OS) proves how stupid he is...he was unable to install it so blamed Cloudy Ready OS for his lack of reading simple instructions skills.
A bump in Porteus Linux Hits would be an accurate indicator tho...

Porteus: last 12 months @ #104. Last 6 months @ 101. Last 3 months @ 72. Last 1 month @ #27. Yes, there is definitely upward movement...accurate upwards movement even for DistroWatch. Those Top 5 on DistroWatch are inaccurate. I'll have to remember to give Porteus a daily Hit from now on...that is, click Porteus before any other listed Distro there!
