Its been some time since I worked with virtual box. With the vbox builder, I am unable to achieve a functional installation. Is this your case?

Hum! A little rusty on my side it seems:
1) vboxadditions would not download completely as I just forgot to click ok at the appearance of dialog box
2) vbox would not run the guest within the host with an error message asking to run:
/sbin/vboxconfig
Tried:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~# /sbin/vboxconfig
bash: /sbin/vboxconfig: No such file or directory
root@porteus:~#
Found /sbin/vboxconfig in my changes directory with midnight commander find file utility under /changes/sbin/vboxconfig, and issued the command. How did it got there?? vbox would start my porteus guest.

3) I did install guest additions and shared folders between guest and host according to Virtualbox Shared Folder Help

It seems that old threads could still be good. :D

Ready to tackle nemesis update from ncmprhnsbl. B)

Small problem here:
At bootup there is a long halt before getting into the X environment. The message is:
... entering level 4 ...
... vbox additions ...

and this even though vbox and vbox-guest are in my optional folder.

Any interpretation of this behavior would be appreciated.

Thanks. :)

^ Probably some saved data or script is running. I also have VBox inside my optional folder and it doesn't auto load :) Try a clean boot.
