It just lets one check which nvidia kernel modules have been downloaded. The zip should have been done as root, but never mind. Not easy doing things remotely.

Please confirm:

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ md5sum nvd367.xzm
7302fdec175abbcae4027d2eb743fe7e nvd367.xzm

Hey Bogo did you have time to check that xzm yet? Thanks.

It doesn't rain but it pours in RL. Wading through it (the xzm) at the moment. Done a 304 xzm, and there is bit of cross fertilization going on, Best way to go about this being to pare it down to bare essentials. This is in process.

Great job. Then from there you have to change some cheatcode to get the save changes option. Are you able to open the porteus.cfg file?

Hey it works! Thanks Bogo and Kriss. I can tick enable 3d acceleration in virtual box now. Weirdly the virtual machine seems as slow as it was with 2d acceleration though that could just be my crap GPU? Do I need to keep blacklist.xzm?

Sorry from bringing this back, but I read everything in order to compile a driver for my GeForce 650 Ti. I have just a couple of questions:

1- I built the driver flawlessly and executed 'save-changes nvidia-367-57.xzm' just after the Nvidia driver wizard exits. The package was created successfully. Then I ran 'init 4' and the GUI loaded fine with the driver. But after removing '05-devel.xzm', 'blacklist.xzm' and 'crippled_sources.xzm' from the base folder, and puting the new 'nvidia-367-57.xzm' inside modules folder, I rebooted and the driver couldn't be loaded. Why?

2- before rebooting, when I'm still using Nvidia driver, I noticed that V-sync (the reason I installed Nvidia driver) doesn't seem to work -- 'Sync to VBlank' is checked on the driver settings. The funny thing is that it works with Porteus 3.1 x64 + LXQt (current release). Maybe a Xfce problem?

EDITED: solved! I'll post a new topic guiding you people through this epic journey :D
