In the end, it was a very bad idea to use Defraggler from Linux and Wine... Even if it didn't work, it was very dangerous anyway.

In years past Hiren's PE CD was considered illegal unlike Bart's PE.

Windows PE does not include any Windows license keys. Also Hiren’s BootCD PE does not violate Windows PE purposes and it does not change “72 hours of continuous use” limitation. So using Windows PE in Hiren’s BootCD PE is legal in the terms of Microsoft’s usage purposes.

But about my above questions

Do you know how Hiren's BootCD PE secures its system?
A search on https://www.hirensbootcd.org/ is quite inconclusive.
