IMPORTANT: Manjaro-openrc will be discontinued

Post#1 by ncmprhnsbl » 30 Jul 2017, 05:27

so yeah: Manjaro-openrc will be discontinued ...
but this is not as terrible as it sounds, as Artoo explains:
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-ope ... nued/28387
with instructions to change repos here:
http://systemd-free.org/news.php
the new distro Artix sources: https://github.com/artix-linux ISO & repos: https://sourceforge.net/projects/artix-linux/

if understand correctly, Artix repos replace Manjaro or Arch core repo while using Manjaro or Arch extra and community(wihile taking priority for some pkgs)
using Artix mirrolist for core and Manjaro(or Arch) mirrorlist for extra/community (renamed mirrorlist-arch)..

so .. the next time i update the base modules, i will endeavour to incorporate these changes..

Have some of you tried the artix iso:
https://artixlinux.org/download.php

I thought that with the adjustments I needed, working them with artix instead of nemesis would provide a good reason to ask for help on their forum. B)

Feel free to ask on our forum, our time is obviously always too little, but we are open to cooperate with other small arch based distros who would like to offer init freedom.. :)

hi artoo, thanks for stopping by (and for all your work with manjaro-openrc and now artix) :)
we're pretty much just in maintainence mode here at the moment,
but i'm led to believe once brokenman finalizes porteus based on slackware current,
this project may become the future next porteus(very much up in the air decision)
certainly though, since we're using your repos, it's only right that we should contribute feedback, bug reports, & queries .
so far, the conversion has been relatively painless :good:
