In a haste to try the manjaro mirrorlist for nemesis, here is what I have done.
- Used the manjaro /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist to replace nemesis /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
- Moved manjaro.gpc manjaro.revoked and manjaro.trusted to /usr/share/pacman/keyrings where there are already the nemesis or arch linux keyrings and followed procedure called "Failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)" Error:

If you get the dirmngr error, just use it as a command and use ctrl-c to get out of command line and that is it. And reissue: This has permitted access to some binaries that are not available under arch linux like octopi.
- octopi : if you get message Failed to change to directory '' (No such file or directory), just start it from command line.

Thanks for the information. But there must be a simpler way to do it from brokenman's iso. I know him, he is listening to the propositions. However, he cannot change the basic elements of the receipe right in the middle of the work. He is a pragmatic.

Personally, I am confident the end product will be quite interesting whatever the solution he chooses.

I think as package managers that pamac or octopi should be interesting gui for newcomers. Whereas pacaur or aura a nice cli for the access to both binaries and AUR.

The advantages of using manjaro could be offset by less availability to the arch linux AUR. Only familiarity with arch will provide the answers.

I will build a manjaro base for testing. It takes me an afernoon to build a base and test briefly.

I built manjaro and then made an iso. At the moment I rebooted, my system died and would not reboot. It reached it's end of life. I am buying a new system tonight and hopefully it will arrive in the next few days.

I have the manjaro verion built here and everything seems to be working. Much more stable than the systemd version. I am putting together the config folder now and will give you an ISO to play with once this is done.

I have to say it worries me a little. There are quite a few packages that need to be maintained in order for this openrc version of manjaro to continue. This means we are at the mercy of the maintainers of these packages.

Are we talking about openrc related packages or about other manjaro packages which differs from arch linux?

Systemd is like panties in the ass, it's terribly uncomfortable, but fashionable and if accustom, then even beautiful.

@Francois I am talking about the -openrc suffixed packages. If systemd is to be removed completely then there are quite a few.

Maybe we should motivate that guy. From what I did read on him and openrc on arch linux, he seemed quite determined.

I think one thing to keep in mind, is that there will be those who choose to leave systemd if an alternative is available. There also seems to be enough people interested in an alternative already. At this point, Openrc appears to be a very good alternative...more stable and far easier to use. Porteus would be an excellent way to present it as well, considering the effort brokenman puts into his releases.

@ brokenman... Openrc gets my vote... IMHO...let's "deprecate" systemd and throw it under the bus!!!

Also... openssl is broken. Let's throw it under the bus with systemd in favor of libressl.

However, thanks for your info on libre....I will independently have a look at compiling it for Nemesis when I get a chance.
