I've been a Linux gal for like ever, but always steered to Debian for power and Puppy for lightweight use. Finally something that fits both. LOVE the module system. If I mess something up, or my "puter" doesn't like something, simply boot always fresh and move it. I run a LOT of modules, but it's good to know I can free up resources as needed just by de-activating something. Everything runs perfectly for me except the occasional usm errors. I just keep a backup set of lists, drop them into place and update later. Thanks for all the hard work Porteus team! (Running 32-bit MATE version 3.2.2)

Welcome on porteus forum Mel. Happy to read that some gal could appreciate this distribution of ours. Do not hesitate to ask if any information is needed. :)

Welcome to Porteus. Please do report usm errors here: USM bug reports, so that the Porteus experience can be made a smoother one. :)

Or if it is the usm upate thats the issue, to prime the usm I run the script/s on a daily basis: [INFO & SCRIPT] Slackware Mirror Settings for USM
