Kiosk Edition - Save Cookies / Passwords

Post#1 by twilightm0nkey » 30 Apr 2014, 11:54

Greetings,

I've just started testing out Porteus Kiosk Edition and it's fantastic.

I would like to configure the browser to save the login credentials / cookies for the site I'm accessing.

Is there a way to do this?

I'm using the Hybrid image on a USB flash drive.

hi twilightm0nkey,

we are doing our best to prevent such things in kiosk so it wont be that easy :)

anyway - please do as follows:
- read Kiosk FAQ how to perform manual ISO customizations
- download and install firefox-24.x ESR on your current distro
- create clean firefox profile
- launch fx -> login to sites you want -> make sure cookies gets/passwords saved
- replace original content of /home/guest/.mozilla/firefox/c3pp43bg.default from 003-settings.xzm with your one
- create new kiosk ISO and check if everything works

btw: moving you thread to the Kiosk section of the forum.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

try disabling private mode in firefox prefs.js file and remove the line about signons.
