Florence,Sweeper,Great Little Radio modules

Deb.RPM modules on the above available when converted to Porteus modules ,get installed, but don't work, since certain dependencies are not met in XFCE.

KBC controller in my Laptop is infected(Pheonix R1.04). I need Florence.
I want to run Sweeper during Shutdown, for cleaning up.
Great Little Radio has nice variety to try and listen.

Can I request an advanced user to make available these Porteus modules with all necessary libraries. These are very small packages and may not add sizable load to memory?.

Hi raja

a) You should post whether the 32 or 64 bit version is required

b) have you already tried the porteus package manager USM ?
it seems that 2 of the wanted programs are available.. :)

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ su
Password:
root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -u all
.....................
root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -s florence

florence-0.6.3-i486-1_slonly.txz was found in slackonly [not installed]
Packages found: 1

Use: usm -i <package> for more info
Use: usm -g <package> to download

root@porteus:/home/guest# usm -s sweeper

sweeper-4.14.3-i586-2.txz was found in slackware [not installed]
Packages found: 1

Use: usm -i <package> for more info
Use: usm -g <package> to download

root@porteus:/home/guest#

Thanks Donald,

I use 32 bit 3.1 in Laptop(2007 model) and just started trying 64 bit 3.2.2 in 2012 Desktop PC, with Pentium 620 processor..

Long back I started USM, updated slackware packages alone and searched for above modules.Didn't succeed.

Shall try later in the day, as advised by you and revert tomorrow.

Under porteus 3.2.2 kde:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:~# usm -g florence

 The following items were found.
 Choose an number to confirm.
 ctrl+c to quit

1) florence-0.6.3-x86_64-1_slonly.txz

Florence appears on the desktop. :)

Thanks Donald,Francois,

Got Florence installed in Porteus 64 bit XFCE. But fails in 32 bit 3.1 XFCE, in spite of adding two missing gstreamer lib through USM.

Instead , I added SVKBD from slackonly database. It works okay and meets my requirement

USM downloaded more than 70 MB of qt,kde libraries and 20 other dependencies for 'Sweeper', an under 100KB program. I thought it is a waste to add so much load.

Suppose one way of looking at it is that if it were to be a standalone program it would be some tens of MiB, but probably rest of MiBs coming from rest of relevant packages which were not needed. 8)
