Hi, I'm using Porteus 3.2.2 Xfce i586 on a 8G USB stick. I formatted my USB stick in ext2 and I extracted the ISO contents directly to the root of the USB. Ran the installation script from GNU/Linux and it finished successfully. I'm able to boot the USB live.
All right up to this point. The problem is, when I run Porteus from USB in Graphic mode, it runs a bit more slowly than when I run it from the live ISO and when the system is entering in the level 4 init, it says:
Code: Select all
/usr/bin/xauth: file /var/run/slim.auth does not exist
But later, when I ls to this path, the file actually exists! And when it finally brings me the desktop, I realize that I can't shut down or reset graphically from xfce4-session (the option is always greyed out). I can't either connect to the internet because NetworkManager didn't run and I can't bring it up. And when I try to run xfce4-power-manager-settings it says that it can't connect to the Xfce Power Manager because:
Code: Select all
The name org.xfce.PowerManager was not provided by any .service files
/var/log/syslog has tons of lines with errors from pulseaudio (that doesn't work either):
Code: Select all
[pulseaudio] main.c: Module load failed.
[pulseaudio] main.c: Failed to initialize daemon.
[pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed.
It fails with other desktop environments too, but not when I run Porteus in Always fresh mode or from the live ISO.
Do someone else had this problem? What's causing the trouble?
