this may be a bug or not, but sure a weird thing...
swap partitions appear listed under /mnt
Code: Select all
$ cat /etc/fstab
# Do not edit this file as fstab is recreated automatically during every boot.
# Please use /etc/rc.d/rc.local or sysvinit scripts if you want to mount/unmount
# drive, filesystem or network share.
# System mounts:
aufs / aufs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
devtmpfs /dev devtmpfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
# Device partitions:
# Swap partitions:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1 ext4 users,noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async,comment=x-gvfs-show 0 0
/dev/sda5 /mnt/sda5 swap users,noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async,comment=x-gvfs-show 0 0
# Hotplugged devices:
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb1 ext4 users,noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async,comment=x-gvfs-show 0 0
/dev/sdb2 /mnt/sdb2 swap users,noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async,comment=x-gvfs-show 0 0
$ ls /mnt
live/ sda1/ sda5/ sdb1/ sdb2/
as you see swap partions sda5 and sdb2 appear as folders under /mnt and I can even create files there:
Code: Select all
# cd /mnt/sda5
# ls
# touch a
# ls
a
Partitions sda5 and sdb2 are clearly swap partitions:
Code: Select all
# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 232.9 GiB, 250000000000 bytes, 488281250 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x0001425c
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 2048 476209151 476207104 227.1G 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 476211198 488280063 12068866 5.8G 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 476211200 488280063 12068864 5.8G 82 Linux swap
# fdisk -l /dev/sdb
Disk /dev/sdb: 232.9 GiB, 250000000000 bytes, 488281250 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes

/dev/sdb1 * 63 476214794 476214732 227.1G 83 Linux

root@porteus:/mnt#
Also, strangely mount command shows repeated lines of mounted partitions:
Code: Select all
# mount
/dev/sda1 on /mnt/sda1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
aufs on / type aufs (rw,del:/mnt/live/memory/images/ntp-4.2.8p8-x86_64-1.xzm)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
/dev/sda1 on /mnt/sda1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/mnt/live/run on /run type none (rw,bind)
fusectl on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw)
I think it should show just:
Code: Select all
/dev/sda1 on /mnt/sda1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
/dev/sdb1 on /mnt/sdb1 type ext4 (noatime,nodiratime,suid,dev,exec,async)
aufs on / type aufs (rw,del:/mnt/live/memory/images/ntp-4.2.8p8-x86_64-1.xzm)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/mnt/live/run on /run type none (rw,bind)
fusectl on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw)
surprisingly mount does not list /dev/sda5 neither /dev/sdb2
