Looks good.. :good:
Desktop - menu - filemanager translated (only a quick check)

Language selection tool itself wasn't translated (chosen DE)
but now we have the doubled folders again in Filemanager.. :(

xfce desktop:
I am unable to have access to backgrounds other than those provided with the iso file.

Trying to troubleshoot:
https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=9329
1. When you log in under Xfce, what is the result of the following command:
ps -ef | grep -i xfdesktop
2. In a terminal window, run the following command:
xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -p /backdrop -m
...then run go to Application Menu >> Settings >> Desktop and try to change the background. What exactly appears in the terminal window and does the background change?
It is possible that something else other than xfdesktop is managing your desktop which would explain why the background doesn't change (the first test will determine that for us). Its also possible that you have the wrong property in your script (the second test will check on that).

Nothing goes on:

Code: Select all

guest@porteus:~$ xfconf-query -c xfce4-desktop -p /backdrop -m
Start monitoring channel "xfce4-desktop":

Which would mean that xfdesktop is not managing desktop.

Actually if I invoke Google-Chrome via the Porteus menu it does have forum.porteus.org as it's homepage. Sorry. :sorry:

@ francois
Yep, it is very unusual that one cannot browse the folder tree,
but you can place your images in /usr/share/backgrounds/xfce/

or click:
Folder > other > type in the /path/to/your/images > enter
and they will show up.

32-bit MATE

I still have a 1 minute 55 second boot time with 3.2.1, although I must admit I am getting used to it.

p7zip FM is showing the wrong icon in the menu, it's the same icon as used for Engrampa Archive Manager, which is the wrong icon also. You have the correct icons for both apps in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/apps/16x16 and /usr/share/icons/hicolor/apps/32x32

Modifiying the desktop entry to read:
Icon=/usr/share/icons/hicolor/apps/32x32/p7zip.png corrects this.

Also, in p7zip FM File|Exit does not exit the application, but Alt+F4 does, and the x in the title bar closes the app too.

Here is how I fixed mind. http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php? ... 430#p50947
So far I have had no problem with it.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

In kde5, there is no submenu to convert txz to xzm, deb to xzm, etc.

Thanks.

Hi Brokenman,

In Porteus v3.2.1 x64 (KDE and/or LXDE) I'm not able to watch videos (for example on Youtube) in HD or FullHD resolution.
My laptop is HP Spectre x360 (Intel Core i5 6th Generation Skylake). I'm trying the latest available intel video driver (downloaded through USM).
Thanks,

kalo86
