Can't get touch pad to work. I've tried looking for a USM package but wants 50+mb of dependencies. I've checked the mouse settings, it's already enabled unless the current driver does not support my Toshiba.

Run synclient and see what it shows. It can be used to change settings if need be. I use these for my touchpad.

Code: Select all

synclient PalmDetect=1 PalmMinWidth=4

Can you find a version for slackware? slackware-current is using this version.
You have added src2pkg command to Porteus.

Just add follow string to you buildsripts:

Code: Select all

wget https://www.mpg123.de/download/mpg123-1.23.8.tar.bz2
src2pkg mpg123-1.23.8.tar.bz2

Code: Select all

About gimp. Can you please install the standard slackware python3 and see if gimp runs?
Yes. I willl try.

Add BTW, I found bug of sound(alsa) - on XFCE 32(and) may be other builds DE.

Sound in console mode without DE do not work at all.
Please, delete 003-xfce4.xzm - then boot to console only - start alsamixer and you will seeЖ

Code: Select all

 alsamixer
/usr/bin/pulseaudio: error while loading shared libraries: liborc-0.4.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused
cannot open mixer:

When module 003-xfce4.xzm activated - no error.

ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused
Ok Thanks. This will have to wait until a later release. The next version (Porteus-v3.2.1) has hit the servers.

Hi brokenman,
With KDE Porteus v3.2.1 x64 I am experiencing lags again with my HP Spectre x360 (6th Gen Intel Core i5).
Anyway I upgraded the xf86 intel video driver and now it seems to work fine!
With Cinnamon v3.2.1 when I open Nemo and left click with touchpad on any folder shown inside the window, Nemo will close.
So I switched to KDE for a try (it seems to work finally).
In more, I don't need anymore the firmware module for my Intel 7265D Wireless adapter, so far so good, thanks!
I will report further details as soon as possible.
Regards,

kalo86

Today i connected an Android phone to my setup (64 bit KDE, 3.2 final, kernel 4.8.8 ). Unfortunately the mtp system showed a lot of error messages only.
I could not access internal memory of the phone. I guess something crashed very bad. WLAN connection was broken after those error messages showed up.

I tried the same on Aporteus (64bit german with mate desktop) after downloading "gvfs-mtp". On this setup file transfer worked well.

Nice. Maybe i´ll try version 3.2.1 with KDE next - or even cinnamon.
At the moment i am fascinated how well Aporteus built with ISO builder made on my own on saturday morning works. Only few hundred megs of memory used after boot (xfce desktop). Runs fast and stable. I miss some things like color correction / calibration and contrast / gamma settings. Could not find this anywhere.
Midnight commander unfortunately does not open ISO or compressed file like xzm. I miss option to save changes... miss option for converting things to xzm...
It´s not perfect but near to acceptable. :D
At the moment i try to save changes from memory in a tar.xz archive and the convert it to a xzm under porteus 3.1.

Amazing! What I need to achieve the same result? :)

fulalas, newer libgphoto2 versions also support Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) based media players since their communications protocol is based on the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP).

Great! This is really enough: http://slackmirror.cbpf.br/pub/slackwar ... 6_64-1.txz :good:

Although this message appears when I connect my Android phone...

Code: Select all

Error initializing camera: -53: Could not claim the USB device
...It works flawlessly. :)

I have to install the following packages to get mine working:

libid3tag-0.15.1b-x86_64-4.txz
libmtp-1.1.11-x86_64-1.txz
mtpfs-1.1-x86_64-2_slonly.txz

And I need only libmtp to transfer files, libid3tag and mtpfs are unneded. I think libmtp could be added to desktop modules.
