Thanks for the themes Blaze. Paper is only 2.2MB whereas Evo is 4.6MB. I think I will paper in place for those that prefer something different to Adwaita. Paper offers a dark theme. No need to view the root problem through teamviewer. I believe you, I just can't reproduce it to do any real work on it. Booting as root (with the new 000,001,003-cinnamon) plays nicely.

The VLC crash is a bit worrying but all I see in that output are warnings. If the percentage length is what is crashing it, I would expect some more ominous and verbose output. Have you tried using a different theme Bogomips?

brokenman, I done optimization for Evo-Vertex theme. A new size 2.4MB

>>> Download Evo-Vertex-only.xzm <<<

1) I think that you can removed Paper and Adwaita themes or stay with Adwaita + Evo-Vertex-only

Image

Paper theme (/usr/share/themes/Paper) looks more badly than Evo-Vertex (I don't mean Paper icons and cursors at the /usr/share/icons/Paper)

Image

2) I think also need to replace wallpaper of cinnamon on more quality wallpaper. For example on this wallpaper

Image

Code: Select all

My wallpaper
Size: 663,0 KB
Resolution: 1 920× 1 200px

Your wallpaper
Size: 879.4 KB
Resolution: 1 440× 900px

Downloaded. But only 360 KB. Activated and restarted Cinnamon. No change. What should I have done?

I just noticed my wallpaper Picture aspect setting is set to Zoom rather than Centered. I think that is a change I made a while ago, but not sure that it isn't the default setting. Blaze do you have that setting?

-update-

Booted rc4+ with prior save.dat file, made changes, rebooted saving the changes, did not get the logon screen. That problem appears to be resolved.

A minor problem with wi-fi though. I have to manually connect to the home router even though it is configured to connect automatically. Not a big deal but thought I should mention it.

Bogomips, browse to Start > Themes > set Evo-Vertex

Ed_P, the second option from the bottom (to scale)

Interesting. The options I see are:

No picture
Mosaic
Centered
Scaled
Stretched
Zoom
Spanned

And my background is gone to a blue screen. And firefox is windowed not full screen.

-update-

Ok, wallpaper is there, just smaller that the firefox window with the Picture aspect changed to Scaled. Back to Centered.

I received this message from user Victor
Much of what he writes does not need in reply. But I decided to publish it.
Cinnamon RC4
1. Virtual keyboard without Russian symbols on the keys.
2. Edit menu does not work.
3. No System monitor shortcut. In applets command does not work. Can not to called Conky package as System Monitor, he has no options.
4. File automatically changes obtained incorrect.
5. No group of processing modules - only a single conversion xzm (after your module installation).
6. Built topic has the same white color both window panels (do not know which window pane is active).
If you install the theme with different shades of the window panels, the box disappears, where you can put a "tick" for any function. "Tick" put possible, but only blindly, if it is known beforehand that it can be put to.
7. Change passwords does not work. Unit 0099 from Porteous-3.1 is not suitable. Rather, the solution is only partially, only to perform tasks on the unlocked Porteous. But to unlock it with the module 0099 - does not work

Is there away to remove the mounted device off of the desktop in Mate? They weren't there in rc4 but show up in the new update Mate I'm using.
I just like Slackware because I think it teach you about Linux to build packages where Ubuntu is like Windows you just install programs you want.

How can I color in the icons in the panel on top in Mate? I change panel from black to gray/white about the same color as the icons. I don't like black it might not be so bad if the desktop wasn't so dark. I just don't like dark color I guest it remind of death.

This is what it look like

Cinnamon 64-bit ISO boot.

Background went to a blue screen.

Not using firefox or even online or anything full screen. Did pause for a couple of minutes and screen dimmed and either the wallpaper disappeared then or when I started using the keyboard again.

-update-

I just rebooted to a blue background. Rebooting does not automatically reset the wallpaper.

I've manually set the wallpaper to porteus.jpg.

Jack you need to change the icon theme to a dark theme.
EDIT:
To remove desktop icons open dconf-editor in applications --> system tools and select:
Its in org -> mate -> desktop -> background -> show-desktop-icons

Ed_P I understand that this is a problem that occurred with more than one user. Without log info there is little I can do to see why.
