[FAA] Scheduled Shutdown For Kiosk

Post#1 by crease » 02 Feb 2015, 18:30

Is there anyway to have Kiosk shutdown at a specific time and remain shut down until morning?

We are using this as a public access computer for clients and it needs to automatically shutdown at 11pm. BIOS will automatically boot it back up at 7am but if someone tries to manually boot between 11p and 7a it needs to turn right back off.

hello crease,

Is there anyway to have Kiosk shutdown at a specific time
i have scheduled tasks on my TODO list for next kiosk release

if someone tries to manually boot between 11p and 7a it needs to turn right back off.
this functionality wont be covered in the wizard as i think such protection could be dangerous in some cases (imagine one wants to stay late at work and cant power up the kiosk because its 11.15pm). also - dont want to make the wizard too much complicated with options which are not very popular.

should be quite easy to implement so i could do this for you through the commercial 'custom kiosk builds' service:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/builds.html

thank you.
