A laptop with a graphic card to compute vectors

:) The laptops in the link I posted have great specs and should meet his "vector" needs. ;)

I would assume C is for Chinese. When you click the down arrow on the right what does it show you?

Language: C Dose it look OK? I don't know, do you speak C? @Ed_P I've made a quick wax on/wax off changes to reflect your suggestions. Thank you. I like them. :happy62: Suggestion: "to be used for Archlinux package downloads" rather than "to be used for Archlinux packages downloads" Cheers and Merr...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

@ Jack A somehow funny "workaround" :o Very clever Donald . :D neko may I suggest a couple of English wording changes? "Multiple choices are available in each category." "At least 1 choice must be selected." Another phrase that you should consider rewording, "The directory must be enough empty size...

ArchLinux packages manager for Porteus

Ok, that link is better. I tested the ISO Builder with various resolutions my machine supports and less than a 900 secondary doesn't work for the window. You need a better video card Jack . I don't think a TV will solve the problem. To support your resolution neko could move Version to the same line...

Ok Jack, I downloaded your link and booted it and I see a dozen icons on the DE but no ISO Builder one or a File Manager one or a way to shut it down!! You sure this is what you're working with?

Those commands were for neko Jack, not you. But it's interesting that the lower one worked favorably for you. Try 800x600 and see what happens.

BTW Do you have a link to the ISo Builder file you are using?

neko if you change your screen resolution to get close to Jack's 1280x800 do you see the whole ISO Builder window?

Code: Select all

xrandr -s 1152x864

or

A laptop with a graphic card to compute vectors

My son and his collegue are master level students. They are not neophytes. I expect they are not neophytes but rather master level game players and want the machine to play video games, with all their vectors. :D This looks like a good list of notebooks for your son, and at reasonable prices. https...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

Anyway, some preliminary testing the ISOs under VirtualBox showed one bigish problem: autologin results in a black screen. One has to boot in text mode, login and issue "startx" to get a fully functional X session. Other than that my only complaint thus far is that the very nice Porteus Browser Too...

In the Porteus menu Search box type font then click on the Fonts item found. In the Fonts window try clicking on the - sign for Text Scaling Factor. 0.90 or 0.80 might help you see the whole APorteus ISO Builder window.

A laptop with a graphic card to compute vectors

Hey francois . My current laptop is a Dell Inspiron 13, my prior machine was an Acer Aspire One 722 and the one before that was an Acer Aspire One. I'm reasonable certain that most computing is done by the processor not the video card. :) And laptops TTBOMK don't have graphic cards like the desktops...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

But the problem wread occurs when booting not after I have booted. After removing the networkmanager I would have to rebuild the ISO to test a reboot. And the problem seems to be limited to only 1 of the 4 ISOs I have tested. 3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem. (Post by Ed_P #61082)
