Re: New distro name

Since it sounds like the matter hasn't been settled yet,
Sorry, it has been settled. The new name 'porteus.org' has been registered. Please comment on and choose a logo in the general chat thread, porteus logo

Re: Automatic script to build fresh Abiword and Gnumeric

A check for existing local modules would be nice. I already have these on my system and they are not small files:

lzm_add bison
lzm_add boost
lzm_add flex
lzm_add readline

Re: [IMPORTANT] Package manager for next release

i like this idea. It is what i originally suggested early on in the show. An index file within every module that contains list of dependencies. Very good.

Re: What is you computer model, does it work with the OS

I have a pavillion DV6 3135TX.

When i try to boot Slax 6.12 it hangs at UDEV and the quad core processor gets hotter and hotter, the fan gets faster and faster and it won't boot. The remix works great.

Can't edit the poll once it has started anyway. Would have been nice to swap jamx for phoebex.

Re: I can upload .lzm module, how ?

Users will not be able to upload modules. They will go into holding until they can be checked. Checking by script sounds interesting ... the script could check for criteria required, and remove un needed files but could not check for nasty files.

At first look i suspect an issue with hda intel driver. I have the same issue.

Posted after 19 hours 53 minutes 22 seconds:
Please try opening kmix and turning both gain and phoneout up. This worked for me. Driver is good.
