Artix: simply artix

File structure is completely different from porteus and naming convention too: Changes seem to be located in: /run/artix/overlay_root/upper/ Modules end with .sfs, they are located in /run/artix/img_dev/artix/artix/x86_64/ So saving changes could be performed: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?...

Booting is possible with the grub2 syntax that I have proposed in the first post. It works. Fanthom has implemented a lot of cheat codes for porteus. Brokenman might know something about it.Cheatcodes seems to be instructions given to the kernel at bootup. Maybe we should search on this side. Tome i...

A laptop with a graphic card to compute vectors

Do these laptops have a graphic card? What do you suggest in the same line as what you had purchased?

A laptop with a graphic card to compute vectors

Looking for the appropriate laptop for my son who is an engeneer student interested in cognitive ergonomy, he asked me to find one that has a graphic card so to ease the load of computing on his project. My search turned around nvidia graphic card and i7 cpu. I came up to: https://www.laptopmag.com/...

PDF viewer popup windows to second screen

This is an interesting demand. There must be a way to get any software to popup to the preferred screen in dual display. This is a call for the developpers, unless we beat them with google. ;)

This is easy with porteus because of the cheatcode change= .

But how could I save changes while booting the artix iso with grub2? I do not want to do a full install of artix on a partition.

Thanks.

grub2 menu entry

@blaze or all: It would be nice to have a thread or tutorial on installing porteus with grub2 only no syslinux on linux partitions . No windows involved. With the above discussion this was not clear. I have tried it and fell on the grub command line, because update-grub on sda5 left me without the n...

@beny: It is delight to have you on the forum. I thought that we have lost you. Please intervene more often. You are enlightning. :) I also have discorvered the simplicity and modularity of xfce4. You can insert or remove bundles on the fly: http://www.slax.org/en/internals.php there is another possibility to add new files and directories to Slax on the fly without installing any packages.
