Running script upon module activation SYSTEMD

Has the DEV TEAM considered adopting any method to allow the use of these packages? We have a similar concept with 'bundles'. They are simply modules that contain all dependencies for a given desktop environment. They still suffer the same disadvantages as above but the advantage is an app that wor...

All the merit is to ncmprhnsbl.
Certainly, he is a part of our DEV team for good reason. I really love the ease of use of Nemesis.

Running script upon module activation SYSTEMD

I added an element some time ago that executes scripts on activation. Just place your script in /etc/activate inside the module. It will automatically receive the start argument in case it is a service. # Run any scripts required on activation of a module for SCRIPT in $MODULE; do MYMOD=${MODULE##*/...

Porteus-4.0 is in the pipeline.

The Porteus team is busy preparing the latest version of Porteus which will be based on slackware-current allowing people to stay on the bleeding edge. We are in the process of addressing bugs and creating desktops. A big thank you to our DEV team!! This newer version will be slightly larger than pr...

What's your favorite file manager?

Are you talking about the p7zip package or the binary 7zFM that is a part of that package?

samba ->>> get it out of 002-xorg

Let think how to get out samba from 002-xorg as it quite vunerable - to make it as optional external module. This brings us back to the original question ... what is Porteus about. Over the years we have striven to make Porteus easy to use for beginners. One of the biggest complaints is when someth...

No Browser?

Users would much sooner like to see Midori in there... what is that, about 1MB extra? If it were merely 1mb extra of course I would include it but it is a good deal larger than that. How do you get there without a browser? As mentioned somewhere above you can use the update scripts. update-firefox ...

No saves

Please be more descriptive with your problem. I try to make porteussave.dat and write changes=... This doesn't tell us much. Please put exactly what you have in your boot line. You can see it after you boot with: cat /proc/cmdline The best idea is to boot up and then run a system information dump in...

usm -u all

Hmmm..
The OP's question is a very open one. Possible? Of course. Possible to remove it from the official version in this instance. Nope.
But one should simply select a different mirror in /etc/usm/mirrors-salix.txt
Much easier fix.

usm -u all

Is it possible to either remove Salix from the update or add an exclusion switch to the USM? At present , no sorry. I can't remember the last time Salix updated but it's stopping the rest of the repos from updating. Just change the mirror for now. You can find the config file at /etc/usm/mirrors-sa...

Seriously or "FUD"?

Anyhow, a thing with network/remote access which runs before anything else and cannot be scanned/reviewed is suspicious by default.imo Yeah, that was exactly my thought. What is the point of this? The answers are rather limited. As computers get smaller and cheaper we're less likely to build our ow...

Japanese fonts and input

I imaginethe process is the same for version 3.2.2. Nothing changed in the language files since the previous version. In the case it isn't working for you shoot a message to neko, our resident Japanese guru.
