Porteus-v3.2.2 bug reports here

Sounds like it could be power management related. Can you force a sleep and see what happens?

Problems in booting v3.2.2 32 bit in old Laptop

Yeah. Wow Raja. Nice catch.

This would have been impossible for me to track down. I hope this information comes in useful in the future, and I hope you are happy with your new found knowledge and faster system.

An easy way to disable cache just for removable devices

Not all devices perhaps. It works on a USB device I just picked up and plugged in. Silicon Power 4Gb flash drive. hdparm -W0K1 /dev/sdb This turned off cache writing for the device. Once you can successfully turn off cache writing you can use a udev rule to turn it off every time the device is plugg...

kde 5 plasma: kdenlive and video editing tweaking

BTW, in the new face of the forum there are no "XZM Team" members. Maybe I am fired for cooking my own coffee? No certainly not Wread, in fact I encourage it! We can certainly build it from sources given the time. I assume nobody wants to reinvent the wheel though. Alienbob does great work and is j...

kde 5 plasma: kdenlive and video editing tweaking

@wread @all Please reference alienbob's KDE5 work when creating any form of Porteus that uses the KDE5 environment. I haven't as yet looked at wread's version of this but I will most certainly include reference in the current version if I decide to make it a part of Porteus. He deserves credit for t...

Save File Troubles

Welcome to Porteus Luke-of-techland! Glad you like the new version. I'll assume you have some technical knowledge because of your handle and location and also because you recognised rEFInd. If you are indeed using rEFInd then be sure to edit the correct config file. Instead of porteus.cfg you should...

Re: USM bug reports

Thanks Ed_P. It just that when I do a diff against this file there are hundreds of changes. @port I agree that USM could be more robust. It could certainly handle errors better. I don't think that the choice of language makes it any less robust though. This is probably more down to my poor coding an...

Re: What would you use if Porteus was not available?

Even the powerful windowsOS is not free from problems after updates No it certainly is not. Last night I found I couldn't hold off on the creators update any more. I need to do some work. I turn on my computer and am told I must wait (and it will take SOME time) which turned out to be an hour and 2...

Thanks bogomips!
Is this functionpackageGet a dropin? Can I simply replace the existing file with this one to test?
