Re: Is there a "## things to do after installing Porteus"?

I started doing that and it works quite well. USM is like Synaptic package manager on Ubuntu (or apt-get on Debian). I've been getting an error lately updating the alien repo but I update each manually now and the error doesn't come up anymore. Alien isn't updated as a result but I can live with tha...

Is there a "## things to do after installing Porteus"?

I find myself looking for this info through Google but I thought, just maybe, there is a compiled list of To-Do's someplace. Things like making Chrome browser display a web page "normally" without weirdness (like what the page would look like by default if viewing from Windows 7), customizing your d...

Re: How do I add "Reboot" to the menu or next to shutdown?

Right on!

Donald: That was exactly what I was looking for. Next time, I'll try looking at the properties of everything!

Bogomips: I have nothing in my bottom right hand corner. The taskbar is on the top. Currently looking to move it to the bottom...

Thank you!

How do I add "Reboot" to the menu? [SOLVED]

Hello all,

I am very surprised it isn't one in either place. Nevertheless, could someone point me in the right direction, if even possible?

Thanks

Does this forum have any themes for contrast?

Re: Regular hard drive installation

After entering the cheat code, will saving happen automatically without manually saving to the save file? francois: I have some experience with Linux (before the days of systemd). I installed Porteus to an empty hard drive. It is now on that hard drive, with bootloader, but not saving like I would l...

Regular hard drive installation

Hello all, Is there such a thing with Porteus? I mean, to install Porteus to a hard drive and it saves all configuration changes and downloaded files by default. I've read about using persistence with a usb drive but I just want a regular desktop experience with Porteus. I just found it and I really...
