Install latest Chromium instead of Chrome in Porteus kiosk 32-bit 3.7.0

jssouza, I appreciate your help, but could you instead of feeding us - teach us how to find food? How do you determine part of which package is certain library? [root:/home/guest]# usm -s libcairo-gobject.so.2 ----------------------------- Are you searching for a library file? libcairo-gobject.so.2...

I had pantheon desktop built on top of cinnamon. (with right click, gala the pantheon window manager does not h...

LXDE for Porteus 3.2.2 x86_64

@raja, this display behavior isn't related to LXDE, but probably to 002-xorg module. Yes, I think so too. @raja Could you time it the next time? I checked at my end and the screen turns off exactly after 10 mins of inactivity. xset -q The output of this command shows: DPMS (Energy Star): Standby: 6...

LXDE for Porteus 3.2.2 x86_64

Thank you Raja.

I will bring an update with your inputs soon.

Regarding gnome mplayer, it was added as a gui frontend because 002-xorg has mplayer as the media player. The good news is that in the next version of porteus we will have mpv as the default player.

LXDE for Porteus 3.2.2

I certainly can rych. But I need brokenman's ok on this. He has a 64bit lxde module (albeit older and barebones) on his server. If he is ok with me overrriding his official module, I will gladly upload a 64 bit lxde. Shouldnt be difficult, I already have the x86 32bit and the arm 32bit lxde out there.

[SOLVED] Misterious wifi issue

Hi jssouza Personally i don't use the 5GHz band because the signal penetrates walls badly Thnaks donald, yes, it does have lower penetration capabilities than that of 2.4GHz (because of the lower wavelength). But, I think we can over come that with a directional antenna with a higher EIRP, what do ...

[SOLVED] Misterious wifi issue

Thanks donald, but 5GHz is much much more complex.

UNII3 in EU is 25mhz (ISM) band, while unii3 in US is 4 Watts (according to latest FCC)..

That would mean, Wlan channels 149 to 165 have a transmission power of 25mhz in the EU, but it has a transmission power of 4W in the US. Do you agree?
