PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

Success! After mount /dev/nvme0n1p3 I can finally access (read-write) the host NTFS system with ls /mnt/nvme0n1p3 Was I supposed to mount it manually, and are there any parameters I need to supply to the mount command? Other than that, a big "Thank you!" and another reason to look forward to porteus...

PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

Thanks, brokenman: have tried your porteus-4.0-x86_64-20171120.iso. I think there is a progress: I can now see /dev/nvme**** entries and two of them are mounted into /mnt/nvme**** However, those mounted appear to be empty with ls -la. So, I still can't see my host system disk. Perhaps I need to moun...

@wread Thank you so much! Your solution worked for me with the following adjustments: 1. it wouldn't run without FreeImage library. So altogether the following 4 modules were needed on my system cryptopp-5.6.5-x86_64-1_slonly.xzm db48-4.8.30-x86_64-2.xzm FreeImage-3.17.0-x86_64-bundle.xzm megafuse-x...

google-drive-ocamlfuse

This has turned out to be relatively easy, on my system at least. Find google-drive-ocamlfuse-0.6.21-1.mga7.x86_64.rpm, convert it to xzm, activate. Then it just works following the usage instructions on the website.

PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

Thank you, @brokenman, I look forward to trying it. Is it going to appear in http://dl.porteus.org/x86_64/Porteus-v3.2.2/kernel/ or elsewhere - I can't find it?

Thank you so much @wread. I will pause my efforts until I hear of your results. You probably have seen some optimistic reports here https://github.com/matteoserva/MegaFuse/issues/17 the MEGA api server is sometimes temporarily unusable. it happened to me too then worked again after a few hours FYI, ...

MegaFuse

OK, I'm trying to convert that rpm -- it's not easy to chase the missing library one by one, installing and creating symbolic links to wrong versions of a library, and now I hit an especially troubling: MegaFuse: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.22' not found (required by MegaFuse) Fi...

USM bug reports

The safm.sh stumbled too at some stage. I decided to delete /var/usm and /etc/usm, reboot, and start anew. Then usm eventually worked well. But before it did, it presented me with a different BUG: As it resolves dependencies and downloads archives it doesn't seem to be checking for their integrity, ...

PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

Thanks fanthom and Spasibo Blaze. Your messages give hope that it's doable and might be fixed in Porteus-4.0 by @brokenman? I'll wait. (In the meantime I guess I should make a RAM disk because there is 8GB of RAM. Otherwise writing-reading off my USB drive all the time is too slow)

PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

Thank you, @ncmprhnsbl , for staying with me on this Kernel version: 4.9.0-porteus none of /dev/nvme* or any other promising /dev/* that I could see It's interesting that BIOS can see this device yet porteus can't. Perhaps there is more to it,it's a new machine from Dell. I'll try to find where to p...

PM961 NVMe PCIe Samsung SSD not supported?

... have tried to set in BIOS, SATA operation to Disabled -- didn't work, and the disk is not even listed in BIOS anymore. So I'm confused, is a PCIe NVM disk still a SATA disk?

Switched it back to AHCI, and added nvme_load="YES" nvd_load="YES" in porteus.cfg -- no effect
