3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

I was updating my kde5 last week end and got also a black screen....
Culprit was a duplicated version of icu4c's, 56 and 60 in 001-core and 002-xorg. It took me 3 evenings to solve the problem...I will take a look at cinnamons case again..

container file system advice

@rych I do not have a changes file. I make a module of my changes every time I build or install a new application. Then I put them all together in a folder named Settings, contained in modules. Then I have: myDolphin.xzm myDTSettings.xzm (desktop settings) myKBSettings.xzm (keyboard settings) myKDEC...

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

Here my research on Porteus-4.0-cinnamon: First I moved NetworkManager to 002-xorg. It is not culprit of NM. Jay was right! Then I moved 003-cinnamon to "optional" and started Porteus in text mode. Xorg seems to be ok. Activated 003-cinnamon and started it under X and there came the clue: by activat...

Cheers!

3.2.2 migration to 4.0 problem.

@Ed_P
You don't have to be a guru to take out NetworkManager out of memory after the iso is loaded...
you just do in a console, as root:

root@porteus:~# removepkg NetworkManager-1.10.0-x86_64-2

That's all :)

Is Porteus IPv6-ready?

2017 is almost finished...This year the IP's got exhausted. It will be remembered as the year that the available IP's went to end. There are no more IP's available. All tricks to make the patient live longer were in vain...v4 is not dead but will not live long. We will have to learn IPv6: now there ...
