What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient
Now I have Pekwm up running three file managers, mc, 7zFM and xfe, chromium browser, google-earth, geany IDE and 05-devel, alsamixer. Installed toolkits fltk and fox only. I like it! :)

It is little and fast!

What's your favorite file manager?

Then I guess the p7zip packages can unzip zip files with other file managers or as plugin from arch, or am I wrong???

7zFM is kind of an anachronismus in Porteus :%)

What's your favorite file manager?

Does anybody use 7zFM??
What is the feature that made it appear in Porteus???
I have not erased it because it is small and it is not worthwhile :(

Cheers!

Wine module to include .wine configuration folder

@rych I have the Wine module in "modules" as you, and when I am going to run a windows program, I go to Start>Applications>Settings>Wine to load the .wine folders. This folder by me is over 600 MB and contains the basic windows operating system, file manager, etc. and the register. Thank God that it...

What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient Trying to compile pekwm led me to a bug in my system - maybe many Porteus systems have it! - I had multiple versions of libpng (12, 14, 15 and 16) and the linker took a different version than the compiler. The solution was to eliminate totally the versions of 001-core, where libpng has...

What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient, @fulalas At the beginning of the Porteus Era there was KDE only for 64 bits....by fanthom, not 32-bits. The reason: KDE was (is ?) too bloated for a 32 bit system, making it very slow. Then I tried it and made a first version of it. It was indeed super slow. Fanthom almost laughed at ...

samba ->>> get it out of 002-xorg

@Falcony My 002-xorg contains neither samba ( my Samba.xzm is in modules ), nor Python ( my Python is in 07-printing ), nor perl ( my Perl is in 05-devel ). Both 07-printing and 05-devel have I in optional and will be activated only when needed. On the other hand, trying to prepare a usb for testing...

What is your porteus.cfg default?

@n0ctilucient
initrd.xz is the first boot step. It will be read, decompressed and stored in ram, building a skeleton of folder "/" and directing the computer to load the necessary minimal working application.

You can decompress it and take a look at it.

What's your favorite file manager?

@fulalas First of all, you should try the FLTK. I downloaded and built from source this last version, installed it in optional and began to research it. I activated it but found no desktop. Then extracted it to see how this package is made. In /usr/doc/fltk-1.3.4-2/examples I found a series of tests...

What's your favorite file manager?

@all The no dependency of other groups is a way to success, i.e. MSWindows, as worst as it can be, is a world success :) Every new edition of a toolkit means upgrading to keep the system "up to date", because of others...i.e. qt :fool: , but it is not true that the follow-upgrades are better than th...

003-pekwm.xzm

Hi n0ctilucient! The hurricanes Irma and María made some damages at the north coastal region of Hispaniola, mostly due to heavy rains. Winds tor quite a few trees down, breaking road communications, but it is been rapidly taken care of. I made a Porteus module for fltk-1.3.4-2 and I was impressed by...

tor: undefined symbol: evutil_secure_rng_set_urandom_device

I use the last version of tor together with vidalia. Then navigate with chromium :good:

switchy-x86_64-1wre.xzm is the proxy plugin for chromium; works for the user root.

Enjoy!
