MegaFuse

@rych
I downloaded the dependencies and compiled the program. But i could not get it connected to my cloud repository. The output message was "login failed". :%)

I will hack a bit on it. When it works, I will share it.

Regards!

The Problems of the "Bleeding Edge"

@all It is very exciting to hear the term "Bleeding Edge",as it supposes advanced knowledge of the matter; I am one of those interested in the "last Wow" in computing... But there is a price you must pay for that: Pa...tie...ce! I will explain... Every time you update a module, you have to run all a...

Porteus on a Memory Card

@M.Eerie

Enjoy!

Porteus on a Memory Card

@all One can install Porteus in a Memory Card if you have a slot for it in your machine; that way you free the usb port you use to start it. I formatted my card in one ext4 partition and copied Porteus on it; the boot folder you must copy in a usb fat32 formatted (it can contain other files, too, no...

A Pek (and/or Joe's) WM alternative?

@n0ctilucient
What would you say if I give you a scalped qt5-5.9.2 module down to 19 Mb (instead of 91 Mb)? And it works!

You are not developing for the Qt company or what?

Cheers!

Wine-Porteus-Gecko-Mono revised

This module has been the solution to Wine for Porteus to many Porteus users who wanted to run their Windows programs in linux. And I am not the exception! Credits to the author of the bundle :Bravo: It is so good, that I have it permanently under "modules" installed -despite its 300 Mb weight!. But ...

What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient
I just finished a conference on Skype, using Pekwm and 08-skype.xzm (works ootb), with video camera and everything!
Up to now It seems to me that xfe full-fills the necessary FM functions, then I havn't felt the need to search for another file manager..

Texlive for Porteus 3.2

Texlive is the Slackware version of LaTex, so I made a Porteus module of the txz file. It can be used together with Kile, so you can compose articles, books, magazines, etc, profesionally.

As you can see Porteus is no Toy... :) A proffesional tool in a USB!

Enjoy

Kile for Porteus KDE5

Kile is an IDE for the Tex family of editors. LaTex is top of the line editor, used mainly by scientific journals, specially suited to edit mathematical formulas etc. Tex will be written as source files and then compiled to get it formatted. With an IDE you can write/compile and see the result of yo...

What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient I found out how to set the xkb to us intl variant! That way you can use accented vowels, ñ, etc.. You must add to your start script the line: "setxkbmap -rules evdev -model evdev -layout us -variant altgr-intl" (without the quotes!) then to write a-accent you must press right-alt a, so...

What's your favorite file manager?

@n0ctilucient
Now I have Pekwm up running three file managers, mc, 7zFM and xfe, chromium browser, google-earth, geany IDE and 05-devel, alsamixer. Installed toolkits fltk and fox only. I like it! :)

It is little and fast!

What's your favorite file manager?

Then I guess the p7zip packages can unzip zip files with other file managers or as plugin from arch, or am I wrong???

7zFM is kind of an anachronismus in Porteus :%)

What's your favorite file manager?

Does anybody use 7zFM??
What is the feature that made it appear in Porteus???
I have not erased it because it is small and it is not worthwhile :(

Cheers!

Wine module to include .wine configuration folder

@rych I have the Wine module in "modules" as you, and when I am going to run a windows program, I go to Start>Applications>Settings>Wine to load the .wine folders. This folder by me is over 600 MB and contains the basic windows operating system, file manager, etc. and the register. Thank God that it...
