Just starting - Trouble with wifi

just to clarify: when you rightclick on network-manager-applet in the system tray, your wifi network is visible? you click on it and nothing happens?(no dialog asking for password etc?) kernel driver seems to be in order.. this could be a missing firmware problem.. in which case this package http://...

Just starting - Trouble with wifi

Welcome to porteus :)
have a look at "Porteus Settings Center"(under the "System" menu section)
in the info section(far right icon) under "Network" tab should have the information about whether this is a hardware issue.
if you could post that here, that might help..

Starting a DM with openrc

here's another way of autologging into a DE, without using a DM: /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty1 : # Set the baud rate of the terminal line baud="38400" # set the terminal type term_type="linux" # extra options to pass to agetty for this port agetty_options="--autologin guest" # make agetty quiet #quiet="no...

KDE5 nemesis artix based

after some testing i've revised the technique slightly: instead of /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty6 , it's /etc/conf.d/agetty.tty1, because for some reason openrc is drops us there at boot.. and ~/.bash_profile now looks like this: # Start x on login if [[ -z $DISPLAY && ! -e /tmp/.X11-unix/X0 ]]; then exec ...

KDE5 nemesis artix based

As you are openrc, the modified procedure to autologin is described here: these instructions are actually for openrc(service manager) using sysvinit as init.. the current nemesis is using openrc(service manager) and openrc init, and /etc/initab is no longer used.. here is a more relevent overview o...

In the most recent version of nemesis, it seems that we have a broken pman:
yep, looks like i was a bit sloppy there :mega_shok:
if you edit line 115 and add a backslash (\) :

Code: Select all

/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch \
in /usr/local/bin/pman should fix that part at least ..

wxpython

seems to be a few slackware packages:
http://slakfinder.org/index.php?act=sea ... e=#results
usm should find it in slackonly repo, possibly not picking it up because of the capital P > wxPython ?

looks like some sort of kernel driver issue..
i suppose the question is : was this hardware working with prevous nemesis updates?
also maybe try this new(4.13.3) kernel [How to] upgrade 3.5 nemesis 000-kernel.xzm with porteus 3.2
it's bigger, so maybe it has more firmware/hardware support..

When trying to setup-pman, I get the error message: there is no internet connection presumably, you do have a connection? setup-pman calls this function from /usr/share/porteus/porteus-functions: ############################### # is_online # # Checks if internet is available #######################...
