I'm using PaleMoon because I can't get Opera working.
you probly need mozzilla-nss because the one in 3.2.2 is outdated(for opera, chromium, chrome)

Code: Select all

usm -g mozilla-nss

Flash Video

hi, welcome to porteus :)
you need the adobe flash plugin for that site
if you open a terminal and do:

Code: Select all

su
<root password>
update-flash
should get you the latest one in /tmp, just move it to the modules folder and activate it.

Gparted help

are you using brokenmans build scripts?
if you are, just put the modified gparted.desktop in /TREE/003_mate/usr/share/applications and it will be automatically added to your module when it builds.

IMPORTANT: Manjaro-openrc will be discontinued

hi artoo, thanks for stopping by (and for all your work with manjaro-openrc and now artix) :) we're pretty much just in maintainence mode here at the moment, but i'm led to believe once brokenman finalizes porteus based on slackware current, this project may become the future next porteus(very much ...

Could I do it during porteus boot somewhere?
i guess you could try it either on the APPEND line(syslinux/porteus.cfg) or for EFI in the refind.conf on the add_options line..
depending on which you're using..

OpenBox: how to focus on mouse release, instead of mouse press?

as far as i can see, there is no explicit configuration around 'click to focus' (being the default) the focus section of rc.xml: <focus> <focusNew>yes</focusNew> <!-- always try to focus new windows when they appear. other rules do apply --> <followMouse>yes</followMouse> <!-- move focus to a window...

using rootcopy to keep the change file to a minimum

Code: Select all

rc-update add avahi-daemon default
puts a symlink(to /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon) in /etc/runlevels/default

Code: Select all

rc-service cupsd start
i think. this just starts it (runs the service script) as a "one shot"
