I wish I knew how to set it up with the Porteus dialogs. if you mean 'Porteus Settings Center' etc, then these are in 002-xorg (along with gtk2 and gtkdialog on which they depend) and should 'just work' (independent of wm or DE) if you mean the rightclick filemanager functions (eg activate, extract...

which might worth a try..
exfat should be mountable... what type of partition table are you using? (MBR,GPT etc)
