@ fulalas - I knew you wouldn't like it as it's based on Gnome shell until he moves over to QT. :)

@ hypomania how did you test it as it's silly fast here when using the official Solus OS as that is what it's currently optimised for?
fulalas - 27 Jun 2017, 01:56
I've just tested Solus OS. After boot consumes more than 500 mb. The GUI is anything but responsive -- some dialogs takes almost 2 seconds to open! The ISO has 1.1 gb and it's translated to just Firefox + Thunderbird + LibreOffice of extras. There's no right click on anything, and I couldn't find a place to change display resolution.

But on the bright side, I think it looks great and it's very harmonic. But well... We don't use the beauty of a system, right? We use the features and ask for performance :D

odd how we can all get different results :) did you install to real hardware or run it in virtual box as Solus is a modern OS aimed at more modern graphic cards as it sounds like you could have been running in software fallback mode as it's silly fast here on my Nvidia card , no delays ;unknown:

I'm undecided if i like it or not as all that Raven menu stuff on the right side of the screen annoys the crap out of me. :)
fulalas - 27 Jun 2017, 02:31
I'm running inside VirtualBox, which has 3D hardware acceleration. But the problem I'm talking about is not related to this. It's clear a CPU bottleneck probably caused by bad code implementation.

The problem with modern hardware such as High DPI screens is not beauty it's if it is clear or fuzzy as no one wants to look at an out of focus fuzzy menu/text desktop everyday.

Even Ubuntu are unhappy how the desktops look at HiDPI and are currently trying to fix it.
